Experiencing Christian Faith. Examines Christian faith experiences,
including singing, praying, using the Bible and discipleship.
Old Testament Introduction. Explores the ways in which stories from the past can help us to understand more about living in the contemporary world.
New Testament Introduction. Overviews New Testament writings,
including their background in history and geography.
The Anglican Church (its history to modern day). Explores the story of the Anglican Church from its beginnings in the British Isles, to the Church of England and to present-day Australia.
Personal Evangelism (Confessing our Faith). This unit helps students express their own faith in today’s world.
Spirit-Filled Living (Serving Christ today). Addresses the fundamental question of how we are called to live today as disciples of Jesus Christ, in our lifestyle, mission, stewardship and calling.
Teaching is delivered by lectures. Supervisions provide individual or small group teaching through written work and feedback. Throughout the course, students are encouraged to undertake independent reading and study to consolidate what is being taught.
The teaching staff of All Saints Anglican Bible College are not simply academic teachers, but people who live their message! Students are able to draw from the vast personal experience of men anointed by God to teach, train and equip you to change your world.
Rev'd Les Forester lives in Salamander Bay, and was formerly Archdeacon of Paterson and Manning District with oversight responsibility for fifteen Anglican Parishes north of the Hunter River. Les holds tertiary academic qualifications in Theology, in Education, and in Pastoral Counselling. He has over 35 years of experience in ministry in seven Parishes. In the past, Les has lectured in New Testament, Pastoral Counselling, Preaching and Christian Leadership.
Rev’d Dr Ed Parker lives on the Tomaree Peninsula, worships at All Saints Anglican, and has a distinguished career in ministry and theological education. Ed employs his extensive understanding of the Old Testament and his teaching experience to assist students as they come to grips with the Old Testament. In recent years, Ed has taught Old Testament to students for local ordained ministry in Newcastle in the Bishop’s Diploma in Theology.
To complete each unit, students must attend and participate in 80 percent of classes, and complete their choice of projects (essays, journals, or creative work such as art or poetry) equivalent to an essay of 1,200–1,500 words. This work involves no exams and students’ projects are assessed by local tutors.
How much will it Cost?
Each participant pays $60.00 per unit (including GST). This covers the price of the workbook for each unit. A special fund is available for those who would like to enrol on the course but who may not be able to due to the financial costs. Please see the Rector.
